Giants face Skellefteå in penultimate CHL group game

Belfast Giants play their penultimate game of the 2022/23 Champions Hockey League on home ice tonight, welcoming Swedish giants Skellefteå to the SSE Arena.

The SHL side are involved in a three-way fight for the next round, however have their

destiny very much in their own hands by virtue of the other two teams in contention – Davos and Třinec – playing each other in the next two games.

Skellefteå lead the Swedish top flight by a point after seven rounds, with four wins and 13 points so far.

Belfast, for their part, have yet to drop a point in the EIHL so far. Their last CHL game saw them record an impressive shootout win over Třinec.

Tonight’s game is live from 6.50pm on FreeSports.
