COLUMBUS, Ohio – On Monday night the Columbus Blue Jackets continued their impressive play this season with a 4-1 win over the Arizona Coyotes.

Gagner struggled last season with the Philadelphia Flyers but has found his game in Ohio.

“I’m happy for him because he knew when we were talking this summer that this was a chance, probably his last one, to stay in the League,” Columbus head coach John Tortorella said. “He’s been a huge addition to our team.”

Sergei Bobrovsky made 17 saves to get the win for the Jackets.

Zach Werenski and Nick Foligno also scored for Columbus who improved to 15-5-4 on the campaign.

“We were a little sluggish early,” Gagner said. “Our power play kept us going. We were moving the puck around pretty good and were able to get a couple there, which is nice.”

The Jackets’ first two goals were on the power play.

“We were all right,” Coyotes coach Dave Tippett said. “Penalties caught up with us and we didn’t create enough offense to overcome it.”

Tobias Rieder was the lone goal scorer for the Coyotes and it came on the power play.

Louis Domingue made 30 saves in the loss.
