Fuel make history with seven-goal night

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Indy Fuel set a franchise record with seven goals in a game as they down the Evansville IceMen 7-3 on Friday night at Indiana Farmers Coliseum.

Peter Schneider led the way with two goals and four points, including the game-winning goal at 19:36 of the first period.  His two goals came just 1:20 apart towards the end of the first and put the Fuel ahead 4-0 after 20 minutes.

Daniel Ciampini also collected two goals on the night and Adam Lapsansky had three assists and four points on the night as well.

Captain Zach Miskovic scored the history-making goal against relief goaltender Christoffer Bengstberg (15 saves) with a shot from the right point through traffic that went in off the goaltender’s glove at 15:33.

Shane Owen finished the game with 26 saves on 29 shots to earn the win, Indy’s sixth in eight tries against the IceMen.

Notes:

Shane Owen’s personal shutout streak against the Evansville IceMen was snapped at 116:55 dating back to December 18th when Mike Trebish scored at 7:23 of the third period.

Adam Lapsansky’s three assists and four points were personal highs in North America. He now has 11 points in as many games.

Peter Schneider’s four points marked a career high in a single game.

Daniel Ciampini’s two goals and three points marked career highs in a single game.

Shane Owen has now won five of his last seven starts posting a 1.86 GAA and .941 save percentage.
