KALAMAZOO- Pushing their winning streak to season-high four games, the Kalamazoo Wings remained perfect in 2015 with a 5-2 victory Friday over the Cincinnati Cyclones on Smitten with the Mitten Night presented by Kalsee Credit Union.
Splitting the defense, Dane Fox (8th) extended his goal streak to three games when he jammed in his own rebound 7:42 into the first period. Eric Kattelus, who earned a secondary assist on the goal, extended his point streak to six games. 
Another odd-man rush minutes later pushed the K-Wings lead to 2-0. Working towards the net, Matt Caria placed a drop pass to the blade of Sam Ftorek for his second goals of the season.
Bouncing back from a disallowed goal moments earlier, the Cyclones cut the K-Wings advantage to a single goal with 31 seconds remaining in the period with a second chance tally from Geoff Irwin (5th).
Similar to the first period, the K-Wings started the middle stanza with two unanswered goals. Cutting in front of the Cyclones net, Jean Bourbeau (3rd) redirected a Fox centering pass to regain a two-goal lead for Kalamazoo midway in the period.
Just over two minutes later, Kalamazoo earned their largest lead of the game with a power-play wrap-around marker from Fox (9th).The goal was Fox’s team-leading fourth power-play of the season.
In the later moments of the period, Cincinnati brought Kalamazoo’s lead back to 4-2 with a redirected marker from Branden Gracel (9th).
Putting the game out of reach midway in the third period, Caria tacked on his eighth goal of the season to match the K-Wings largest lead of the night.
Joel Martin improved his record to 11-8-1-1 making 36 saves in the victory.
