Aspray Glasgow West sponsored Glasgow Clan’s hopes of ending the week with six points from six were dashed as Dundee Stars took victory in a 7-3 success at Dundee Ice Arena.
Clan had won their last three going into a tough venue on Tayside, but couldn’t get the job done as Stars ended the weekend on a high note.
Despite some early chances for the Clan, it was the hosts who opened the scoring when James Phelan was found all alone in front of net and he slid it past visiting netminder Kevin Lindskoug.
Anthony Rinaldi then broke in on Lindskoug all alone but his shot was only met with metal as the puck stayed out via the crossbar.

Dundee still managed to grab a second goal shortly after through Jake Elmer as he shot the puck from the right-side circle into the roof of the Clan net.
Spencer Naas added two swift goals for the Stars, the first of which forced Clan head coach Jason Morgan to call a time-out and replace Lindskoug with backup goalie Antti Karjalainen.
Mike Pelech got the visitors on the board before the end of the period though as he tapped a loose puck home from in the crease.
Luke Lynch came agonisingly close to bagging a second when he rebounded a loose puck in the crease, but he got tangled up with Rob Lachowicz and the puck trailed wide.

Jordan Cownie also struck the post with a low wrist shot later in the period before Dyson Stevenson was beaten by the crossbar on a shot from the hashmarks.
Ryan Valentini put the home side ahead by four goals late in the second period when he fired the puck in from the right wall.
Phillipe Sanche then grabbed a second Clan goal with a snap from in-close before Gary Haden put Glasgow to within two of the Stars on the powerplay.
Carter Johnson extended the hosts’ advantage not long after though as he rebounded a shot past Karjalainen at the back post before Anthony Rinaldi completed the job late on and round off the win for the Stars.
