In New York Sunday night, the Dallas Stars struck four times as they routed the Islanders, 6-2.
Dallas’ first line did most of the damage during the game with Alexander Radulov striking for two goals Tyler Seguin adding a single marker; their linemate, Jamie Benn, had three assists.
“We’ve been waiting for them to get hot again since the fourth game of the year,” Stars coach Jim Montgomery said. “I hope they get on a roll.”
Ben Bishop made 37 saves to get the win.
Anthony Beauvillier and Scott Mayfield scored for the Isles.
“I thought our battle level came down and you can’t; you know they’re going to raise their battle level,” Islanders head coach Barry Trotz said. “I thought a couple guys tried to go around the game instead of through the game, and you can’t do this in this league. And I thought some guys got pushed out of the game and that’s not good enough. We were really easy to play against tonight. We weren’t hard, and that’s not us.”
Esa Lindell added two goals of his own for the Stars who move to Madison Square Garden for Monday tilt with the Rangers.
“With back to backs, it was really important that we could really spread the [ice] time in the third period, which is a luxury in this League,” Montgomery said. “If our big line doesn’t have the night they had, it’s still 3-1, 3-2 there right down to the end.”
Roope Hintz also scored after being called from the Texas Stars in Austin.
“I felt we were going, we were reading off each other and tried to move the puck faster, simple plays and [we were] winning our battles. That’s the key,” Radulov said.

Thomas Greiss got the start for the Islanders but was given the hook in the middle frame when he made 16 saves.
“Really, the game went south on us in probably the first six or seven minutes of the second period,” Trotz said. “I didn’t like the fact that we started feeling sorry for ourselves. Don’t feel sorry for yourself; let’s get into the game.”
Robin Lehner made 11 saves in relief.
