JOHNS ISLAND, SC – Four former United States Hockey League on ice officials will officiate the the prestigious CCM/USA Hockey All-American Prospects game to be held on September 29, 2012 in Buffalo New York. Referees Tom Chmielewski of Colorado Springs California and Chris Pistocia of Edison New Jersey will be joined by linesmen Alex Stagnone of Boston MA and Brian Oliver of Rochester NY according to USHL Director of Operations Scott Brand.
The CCM/USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game will boast 40 of the top American prospects eligible for the 2013 National Hockey League Entry Draft. Represented are 31 players from the United States Hockey League, the top junior league in America. Additionally, at least 28 of the 40 are future NCAA Division I college players.
“USA Hockey honored these young men with this assignment. They are outstanding graduates of USA Hockey’s Officiating Development program. Each spent several seasons honing their officiating skills in the USHL before moving on to work professional hockey” said Brand.
USA Hockey’s Matt Leaf said in their media release that “these young men to have established themselves as our brightest stars in the officiating profession and have earned their assignments to this special event through hard work and commitment over the last few seasons.” Chmielewski refereed in the American Hockey League and the ECHL during the 2011-12 season, while Pitoscia called games in the ECHL, United States Hockey League, Central Hockey League and Southern Professional Hockey League.
