Flames have signed former GB U18 Sam Talbot. The 22 year old forward spent the last 2 seasons at NIHL Milton Keynes Lightning. Across that stretch, he had 74 goals and 153 points in 103 starts and also made his EIHL debut with Coventry Blaze in 22-23 where he appeared in 2 games.
The 6’0”, 170lb Swindon jr product opened his senior account at NIHL2 Slough Jets in 2018-2019 where he was an NIHL2 2nd All Star team selection and helped his side to the South and League titles. That same season he played 5 games with the U18 national programme at the Division 1B world championships where he had 2 goals in 5 games. He split the 19-20 set between Jets and Basingstoke Bison. He was again a 2nd All Star pick, then played on loan with Jets during the Covid adjusted NIHL Cup during the 20-21 campaign where he had 36 points in 14 games ahead of his Lightning transfer in time for the 2021-2022 term.
“Every team is always looking for that next generation of young British talent, and Sam is about a promising as they come,” explained Paul Dixon.
“He has an excellent skill set, he can skate, he is good with the puck and he shows good offensive instincts.”
“He has had a lot of success where he has been. He is really looking forward to stepping up and competing at a higher level with us, and we are excited about bringing him into the club.”
