PHILADELPHIA – For the second straight game, the Philadelphia Flyers had their way with their cross state rivals, Pittsburgh Penguins.

The Flyers made the Pens look old and slow in both games, and came away with a 5-2 win on Friday night.

Travis Konecny notched his first NHL hat trick in the win.

“The positive is that we got four points out of that,” Voracek said. “It’s always kind of hard to beat teams back-to-back. But it is sloppy, that’s for sure. … I think they were the better team, to be honest with you.

“It was a good game, but we have to get better. Way, way better.”

Carter Hart made 31 saves in the win.

Sidney Crosby and Brandon Tanev were the Pens’ strikers.

“I don’t think games can be pinned on any one person,” Penguins head coach Mike Sullivan said. “We win as a team, we lose as a team. That’s the way we look at it as a coaching staff. … You have to give Philadelphia credit. They converted on the opportunities they got.

“I thought we were the better team tonight. We couldn’t convert on ours, and I thought they were opportunistic on their side.”

Ivan Provorov added single marker for the Flyers.

“We’ll clean up those breakdowns,” the Penguins’ Bryan Rust said. “I think there is a lot to like. We’ve had the puck an awful lot. We’ve had an awful lot of chances. I think just in certain situations, when we do break down, we can’t chase a mistake with another mistake. We have to try to limit those kind of snowball-effect areas.”

Oskar Lindblom added an empty net goal to close the scoring.

Tristan Jarry got the start for the Penguins, but was given the hook after yielding three goals and making just three saves..

Casey DeSmith finished the game and made 12 saves.

“[Jarry] is the perfect candidate for a bounce-back here,” DeSmith said. “He doesn’t get too high or too low. He’s pretty even-keeled. When I went in there, he was cheering me on. So he’s definitely a guy that doesn’t take it too hard, and I think will bounce back pretty smoothly the next game he plays. I’m confident he’ll be good.”
