Flyers spoil Giroux’s opening goal, down Sens, 2-1 Senators in danger of returning to PHN's Adam Minnick's dumpster fire list - Update to follow

In Ottawa, the Senators hosted the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday, Claude Giroux opened the scoring to give the Senators a 1-0 lead against his former team.

It wasn’t quite enough as the Flyers responded with two goals and a stingy defense in a 2-1 win.

Carter Hart made 31 saves in the Flyers win.

Philadelphia improved to 6-3-2.

The Flyers’ Kevin Hayes replied with a power play goal in the fist to tie the game, 1-1.

The Senators have now dropped five straight on their skid, and fell to 4-7-0.

Zack MacEwen  scored in the middle frame for what would be the game-winner.

Cam Talbot made 26 saves in his season debut with the Senators.
