PHILADELPHIA – The Flyers got a solid game from across the bench and Jakub Voracek potted the game-winner with just over three minutes left in regulation to send Philadelphia to 5-2 win over the New Jersey Devils Saturday afternoon.
“I was thinking pass it all the way and their [defenseman] played tight to [Laughton],” Voracek said. “When I decided to shoot it, I was too close, so I had to do something and it worked.”

Scott Laughton, Travis Konecny, Nolan Patrick, and Wayne Simmonds also scored for the Flyers who improved to 4-4-0.
“With his (Voracek) dynamics, he can change the look of a hockey game,” Philadelphia coach Dave Hakstol said. “He made a heck of a play on [Patrick’s] goal with his speed coming down the wing. And the third goal, a lot of that was him.”
Brian Elliottgot the win on 19 saves.
The Devils got power play goals from Damon Severson and Brian Boyle.
“The way we need to play is a relentless game,” Boyle said. “We need to be the hardest working team on the ice every night to give ourselves the best chance. It’s got to be our bread and butter. You’ve got to be emotionally invested too. You can’t be casual.”

Keith Kinkaid made 16 saves in the loss.
“Today wasn’t going to be one of those days that would be a possession game. It was going to be more of a north-south, chip to an area (game), but we were a little stubborn in it and we couldn’t create much off of that.”the Devils’ Andy Greene said after the game.
