PHILADELPHIA — The Flyers’ Kevin Hayes struck twice to lead them to a 4-2 win over the visiting San Jose Sharks on Tuesday night.
Carter Hart made 26 saves in the win.

A shot by Noah Gregor #73 of the San Jose Sharks find the back of the net against Goalie Carter Hart #79 of the Philadelphia Flyers in the third period.
“We ended up winning the game, but it wasn’t the prettiest game on our end,” Hayes said. “We just kind of stick to our system. Tonight, when we had bounces go our way, we took them and put them in the back of the net.”
San Jose rookies Noah Gregor and Joel Kellman scored for the Sharks.
“You have to have some of your veteran guys pitch in and score some goals for us,” Sharks head coach Bob Boughner said. “We need some goals, and not just from our depth. We need our top-six guys to put some points on the board.”
Nicolas Aube-Kubel and Travis Konecny had single markers for the Flyers.
“It’s been like that the whole trip,” Boughner said. “We’ve played solid enough, we’re not giving up a heck of a lot over the 60 minutes, but when we give up those one or two big mistakes, they’re finding their way into the back of the net.”

Aaron Dell made 23 saves in the loss.
“These guys (Sharks rookies) have all gotten to this place for a reason,” the Sharks’ Brent Burns said. “I think you just try to do the right things at the rink and have them see that. If they have questions or something, you can help, but I think you just try to show them the work that we were shown when we were younger.”
