“A little bit of relief and a little bit of elation,” Calgary forward Blake Coleman said. “You’re excited. Heck of a shot. We just found a way, and he’s one of those guys that all he needs is one and he made it count. It was a great shot, and ‘Vladdy’ had the breakaway save. He got us to that point.”
Nazem Kadri tried it at 9:57 to get it tied at 2-2 and send the game to extra time.
“We want to put on a good show and we’re fighting to make the dance, so every single game is magnified for us,” Kadri said. “We’re trying to show that desperation early, and we’re coming together, rallying as a team, and that’s a great sign.”
Yegor Sharangovich won it for the Flames when he potted a power play goal with 17 second left in the extra session for a 3-2 win.
“It’s a team we’re fighting with for points to climb into that wild card picture,” Coleman said. “We just couldn’t let it slip away no matter how we felt. That competitive spirit comes out of you and you find ways to dig deep and try to get on the board.”

The Coyotes took a 1-0 lead in the middle frame on a strike by Sean Durzi at 8:22.
“Points are so important now this time of year, especially this next little stretch,” Durzi said. “You’ll see it coming into the (All-Star) break. We know where they are. We know where we are. We know that two points are everything. Obviously, it’s disappointing, but this time of year we have to be able to, at least from my experience, move on. That’s it. What’s happened has happened.”
Logan Cooley extended the advantage to 2-0 at 6:37 of the third period off a tap in.
The Coyotes have lost five of seven, and dropped to 21-18-3.
“We knew what game we were getting coming into it,” Durzi. “Even when we were up two … these circumstances, this time of year, that team, what’s on the line … I think you knew they weren’t going to just shut down. They got a couple of good bounces on their goals there, and that’s the hockey game.”
Connor Ingram made 27 saves in the loss.
