In Calgary, the Los Angeles Kings could not handle the luxury of a 2-0 lead in the first period on Saturday.
The Flames’ Milan Lucic and Dillon Dube had a goal and two points apiece in a 4-3 Calgary win.
Cam Talbot made 30 saves in the win, his first since October.
“It says a lot about how we’re playing and the confidence that we’re playing with right now,” Talbot said. “We know that if we get in a hole early we can battle it out, and you saw that tonight.”
Matt Roy, Anze Kopitar and Drew Doughty scored for the Kings.
“This year we’ve played very well with the lead,” Doughty said. “So after the first period, with that good start, we felt pretty comfortable in here, maybe too comfortable. We didn’t push enough in the second. Maybe sat back a little bit too much and we allowed them back in the game. Then we were chasing after we got down 3-2, obviously.”
Sean Monahan and Zac Rinaldo also scored for the Flames.
“We’re a hard team to play against when everyone’s contributing,” Dube said. “[Coach Geoff Ward] feels comfortable putting all lines out, and we were wearing them down tonight and we were getting a lot of O-zone time, which has been getting us so many chances.”

Jack Campbell made 26 saves in the loss.
“I think we’ve played really well at home and I still think we’re playing well on the road,” Campbell said. “Sometimes you’ve got to steal one 2-1 on the road, or 3-2, and get those big points in these tough buildings. I think we’re playing well enough to win. Just needed a couple more saves tonight.”
