(Independence, MO) – The Walleye shut out the Mavericks 3-0 Friday night in Kansas City. Kevin Gibson picked up three points and Matej Machovsky stopped all 24 shots he faced and improves to 7-6-0-1 on the season. The Walleye are now 25-10-2-1 on the season and 10-6-2-1 on the road.
Kevin Gibson scored at 5:23 of the first period to give the Walleye a 1-0 lead. Kyle Bonis gave the Walleye a 2-0 lead at 11:55 of the first.
The Walleye extended their lead to 3-0 with a goal by Patrick McCarron at 19:05 of the third period.
Fish Tales:
The Walleye play Saturday night in Kansas City with an 8:05 p.m. puck drop and Sunday in Kansas City with a 5:05 p.m. puck drop. The team returns home on Saturday January 27 for a 7:15 p.m. puck drop against the Beast.
