Minutes later at 4:20, Rogan Rafferty (2) followed up on a rebound off Dell’s cage. San Jose received a quick response from Jeffery Viel (4) who wristed the puck passed the five-hole of Joey Daccord. After receiving their first power-play of the game, the Firebirds scored their fourth goal before the 10-minute mark off a slap-shot from John Hayden (7). At 13:45, Lind cashed in his second goal of the period to give the Firebirds their fifth goal of the period. The Barracuda were outshot 17-4 in the first twenty minutes.

At 8:15 in the third period, Danil Gushchin (5) found Montana Onyebuchi (3) wide open behind an offensive rush who blasted it through Daccord to cut Coachella’s lead in half.
