Martin Fehervary signed a three-year, $8.025 million contract with the Washington Capitals on Tuesday. It has an average annual value of $2.675 million.

The 23-year-old restricted free agent defenseman had 16 points (six goals, 10 assists) in 67 games last season. He averaged an NHL-best 20:00 per game, including 18:19 at even strength, third among Washington defensemen. He also led Capitals defensemen with 217 hits and his 128 blocked shots were second to Trevor van Riemsdyk (160).
Selected by Washington in the second round (No. 46) of the 2018 NHL Draft, Fehervary has 34 points (14 goals, 20 assists) in 152 regular-season games and no points in eight Stanley Cup Playoff games.
