In Detroit, the Red Wings posted a solid two-way game on Friday night, and defeated the visiting Boston Bruins, 4-2.
Robby Fabbri struck for two goals in the win.
Fabbri was acquired this week from the St Louis Blues in a quiet trade.
“It definitely helps my confidence to come in and help the boys win,” Fabbri said. “That’s what I’m going to be trying to do here.”
Jonathan Bernier made 26 saves on the night and kicked in two assists.
“Someone just told me I have seven (career) points now, which I didn’t even know,” Bernier said.
David Krejci and Torey Krug scored for the Bruins.
“We just didn’t have enough energy tonight,” Krug said. “It showed up late in the second, but we couldn’t get over the hump.”
Dylan Larkin and Anthony Mantha also scored for Detroit who stopped a four-game skid.
“I think we came into this game last in the League in shooting percentage and three points below the League average,” Detroit head coach Jeff Blashill said. “Robby [Fabbri] looks like a guy who can score and we know that he’s been very good on the power play in the past. We gave him an opportunity and he did a great job. We’re not expecting two goals every night, but he played hard and did the things he needs to do.”
Both of Fabbri’s goals came on the power play.
“It was a lot of fun to play with [Bertuzzi] back then, and tonight brought back all of those memories,” he said.

Tuukka Rask made 28 saves in the loss.
“We took three penalties in the offensive zone and put one puck over the glass, so we definitely weren’t on our game tonight,” Bruins head coach Bruce Cassidy said. “You can’t take penalties 200 feet from your net. Maybe one, but not three.”
