The Teessiders responded in style the following night with a comfortable 8-3 win at home to Solihull Barons. First period goals from Paul Windridge, Ross Hanlon and Simon Hehir set them on their way, before Scott Ward and Ben Davison made it 5-0 by the end of the second. Stars’ forwards Andy Fletcher (2) and James Moss added further goals in the third, with Erik Bakalar, Adam Andrews and Richard Slater scoring for Solihull.
Trafford Metros and Blackburn Hawks met in Altrincham on Saturday with both teams looking to boost their play-off hopes. After a scoreless first period, Rick Hughes 25th minute wraparound goal put Hawks in front but Metros roared back to take a 3-1 lead by the middle of the third. Tom King made it 3-2 after 53 minutes and Aaron Davies completed the comeback with little over a minute remaining to send the large travelling contingent wild.

Second placed Whitley Warriors kept up the pressure on Billingham with an 8-6 success over struggling Nottingham Lions. Dean Holland (3), Jamie Tinsley (2), Shaun Kippin, DJ Good, and Garry Dowd scored Warriors goals .
Sheffield Spartans eased their relegation worries with a 3-1 win over Coventry Blaze. Gareth Owen gave Blaze an early lead, but goals from Will Barron (2) and Nick Manning moved Spartans four points clear of the relegation play-off place.
Solway Sharks kept their 100% ENL2 record intact with an 11-3 win at Fylde Flyers. The prolific Adam Reynolds and Nathan Salem both scored two, as Sharks comfortably outclassed their hosts to move ten points clear of Sutton Sting. Hull Stingrays closed the gap on third placed Flintshire Freeze to three points with an 8-3 win at Lancashire Raptors.
