Yes, it’s true! Week 30 of 30 in the 2025/26 Elite Ice Hockey League is here, bringing an end to the regular season.
The league title has already been decided, and at the end of this week we’ll lose two teams before heading into the playoffs.
It’s all about playoff seeding this week, which starts with four games on Wednesday night. Cardiff Devils, in second, host third-placed Sheffield Steelers in a game that may well decide who takes second place this season. The teams are tied on 69 points from 51 games each going into this clash.
Nottingham Panthers, in fourth, take on Manchester Storm in fifth as well. While the seven-point gap between the teams cannot be overturned in each side’s last three games of the season, Storm are looking to lock in fifth place, while the Panthers can climb a place with a win and other results going in their favour. In Belfast, the league champions welcome Coventry Blaze to the SSE Arena. Last time they met, the Blaze knocked the Giants out of the Challenge Cup and still have a realistic shot at finishing sixth. Finally, the day ends with Glasgow hosting Dundee as the Clan look to finish seventh.
Attention then turns to the weekend with a full 10-team schedule on both nights.
On Saturday night, the Giants are home to Guildford Flames, while Manchester host Nottingham. Coventry continue on the road in Cardiff, with Sheffield home to Glasgow.
Fife and Dundee bow out of the season with a home-and-home series against each other on both nights.
Sunday sees Nottingham host Cardiff, while Glasgow face Sheffield again, this time in Braehead. Coventry are home to Belfast, while the regular season’s final game sees Guildford take on Manchester.
