EIHL Saturday: Cup Games Continue in Week 2

Saturday 20 September brings another packed night of Challenge Cup action across the Elite League, with every result set to shape the early standings in both groups.

In Group B, Fife face a big test when they travel to Belfast. The Flyers were winless until shutting out Dundee midweek to earn their first points of the season; the Giants meanwhile took a 4-1 win in Kirkcaldy last Sunday.

In Glasgow, Dundee Stars are the visitors to Braehead Arena. The Stars were the hottest team in week one, winning both of their games including a 6-2 victory at home to Clan, but a midweek loss to Clan ended their perfect record. The Clan had beaten Fife before losing in Dundee.

In Group A, Guildford welcome Coventry in what is a key game for both sides. Both teams have a win each to their name, although the Flames have now played three games after Friday’s heavy defeat in Cardiff.

The night’s headline clash sees Nottingham Panthers renew their fierce rivalry with Sheffield Steelers at the Motorpoint Arena. The Steelers have already put a regulation win on the board and picked up a point in Cardiff. The Panthers got their first win of the season on Friday night in Manchester, but have little margin for error now having already lost two Cup games.
