EIHL Playoff Seeding – what could happen!

Heading into the final day of the season, places 2-8 are still to be decided. Here’s where each team stands:

  • Belfast Giants are league champions and will be the #1 seed in the Playoffs.
  • Cardiff Devils need a point in their final game to finish second. They could, however, also come third if they lose in regulation.
  • Nottingham Panthers would finish second with a regulation win against Cardiff. An OT/SO win would see them finish third, while they could also end up fourth depending on Sheffield’s result.
  • Sheffield Steelers will finish third if they better Nottingham’s result against Cardiff. Any win for the Panthers will see the Steelers will finish fourth regardless of their result in Glasgow.
  • Guildford Flames will finish the season fifth with a point against Manchester.
  • Manchester Storm must win in regulation in Guildford to finish fifth. Any other result will see them finish sixth.
  • Coventry Blaze need a point to finish seventh. A regulation loss, combined with a Clan regulation win, would see them drop to eighth. The Blaze can still come seventh if they lose providing Clan don’t win in regulation
  • Glasgow Clan must beat Sheffield in regulation to have any chance of finishing seventh, and would also need Coventry to fail to pick up any points on Sunday. Otherwise, they will finish eighth and face Belfast in the playoffs.
