25 games have been played on 22 November in the Elite League’s history, 14 ending in home wins, nine in away wins, and two ties. Only one game has ever gone to overtime on this date, and even that finished as a draw as it was played in 2003 when games could still end tied after OT. For the record, that was a 3-3 game between Basingstoke and London. Also of note is Edinburgh and Coventry sharing 15 goals in an 8-7 game back in 2009.
Nottingham Panthers meet Sheffield Steelers in the league for the first time this season. The teams have met 71 times in league action since the EIHL began, with the Steelers edging the series with 40 wins to the Panthers’ 30. There has been one tie. On average, this fixture produces over five goals per game.
Coventry’s home record against Dundee is very strong. Over 37 league fixtures, the Blaze have won 29 games with just eight going the way of the Stars. Coventry average at least four goals a game against the Stars at the Skydome.
Few teams have lower home win records against an opponent than Manchester do against Cardiff. The Devils have left the Storm Shelter with the points in 20 of the 24 league meetings. When the game goes beyond 60 minutes, Storm have never beaten the Devils in the league on home ice.
While Fife are still searching for their first league win of the season, they have reason to be optimistic with their all-time league record against Glasgow. The Flyers have 21 wins from 44 games against Clan in Kirkcaldy, with 23 wins going the way of Glasgow.
