What do the history books tell us about Saturday night’s Challenge Cup games? Let’s find out!
Belfast Giants have only ever lost one home Challenge Cup game against Glasgow Clan – that came back in 2015. They have won all of the other 13 meetings.
Fife Flyers and Dundee Stars have met 16 times in the Cup in Kirkcaldy, with the Flyers edging the series with eight wins. The Stars have seven victories, while one game, a Cup Quarter-Final, ended in a tie.
Cardiff Devils have a solid Cup record in Manchester, having won two of their three visits to the Storm Shelter.
Nottingham Panthers will be confident facing Guildford Flames, having won three of the four Cup meetings between the sides at the Motorpoint Arena. The Flames’ only win came in 2019 in the second leg on their way to reaching the Final.
Finally, Sheffield Steelers have won nine of 12 home Cup clashes against Coventry Blaze. The Blaze’s overtime victory last season was their first Cup win at the Utilita Arena since 2007.
