TULSA, Okla. – The second round of the ECHL Kelly Cup Playoffs has been set, and will get underway beginning tonight.
Three games are on the schedule for the evening, with Jacksonville at Florida playing game one of the South Division Finals, Wheeling at Toldo in game one of the Central Division Finals, and Rapid City at Utah for game one of the Mountain Division Finals. Newfoundland travels to Reading for game one of the North Division Finals on Saturday.
The opening round of the 2022 Kelly Cup Playoffs saw four game sevens, with Newfoundland (d. Trois-Rivieres 4-3), Toledo (d. Cincinnati 4-3), Wheeling (d. Ft Wayne 4-3) and Utah (d. Tulsa 4-3) all needing to go the full series distance to advance to the next round of the tournament.
Florida advanced with a 4-2 series win over Greenville, and Rapid City won 4-1 over Allen, while Jacksonville pulled off a rare four-game home sweep over the higher-seeded Atlanta Gladiators.
