Eagles win second straight in 2-1 victory over Tulsa

LOVELAND, Colo. – The Colorado Eagles beat the Tulsa Oilers 2-1 on Saturday, winning their second game in-a-row and third straight at the Budweiser Events Center. Ludwig Karlsson scored his first goal as a Colorado Eagle in the victory.

Collin Bowman gave the Eagles an early lead with a power play goal at the 16:46 mark of the first. The defenseman buried a one-timer from the blue line to give Colorado the 1-0 advantage.

Tulsa tied up the game 7:36 into the second period when the puck bounced free in front of the net. Defenseman Matt Konan got his skate on the puck and deflected it into the goal, evening the score at 1-1.

Colorado regained the lead at the 12:08 mark of the third when Karlsson placed the puck over the left shoulder of Tulsa goaltender Kevin Carr from the top of the circle on the powerplay, giving the Eagles a 2-1 lead. Karlsson’s goal would stand as the game winner in the 2-1 victory for Colorado.

Eagles goaltender Kris Lazaruk stopped 20 of the 21 shots he faced to win his second consecutive start in net.

The Eagles hit the road for a three-game road trip starting next Wednesday against the Utah Grizzlies and wrapping up with a two-game series against the Allen Americans next weekend.
