LOVELAND, Colo. – It took 73 minutes and 18 seconds to see a goal and decide a winner in Game One of the Mountain Division finals between the Colorado Eagles and Idaho Steelheads.
Netminders, Joe Cannata for the Eagles and Phillipe Desrosiers from Idaho, stopped everything thrown at them on the ice through regulation time. Each goalkeeper stopped 28 shots in the first 60 minutes, including four penalty kills for Colorado and three penalty kills for Idaho.
Eagles Defensman, Colin Bowman slammed home the game-winner at 13:18 of the overtime period with the primary assist from Ryan Harrison and a secondary assist from Drayson Bowman.
Even with the lack of scoring and the solid workman-like attention to detail and amazing goaltending, this was a very entertaining contest with skilful play everywhere on the ice.
Colorado hosts Game two on Sunday, April, 29th 2018 at The Budweiser Events Center in Loveland, Co. Game time is 7:05 MT.
