LOVELAND, Colo. – Game three of the Pacific Division semifinals was an ugly, undisciplined game played by both teams including seventy minutes in penalties between the Colorado Eagles and the Ontario Reign. All six goals were scored on power play opportunities with one of the Reign goals coming on the two-man advantage and another while skating four on three.
Half of the scoring came in the first period with Vitalijs Pavlovs providing the Colorado Eagles with a power play goal on a big blast from the right side that ended up behind Ontario goalie, Jussi Olkinoura at 13:49.
A few minutes later ,at 17:15, Matt White tied the game on a power play with a shot from the doorstep that got by Eagles net minder, Jacob DeSerres . White also scored the second Reign goal at 18:53, again with a man advantage, to take a two to one lead into the first intermission.
Ontario scored twice on power play chances in the second period. David Rutherford scored from in close to make it 3 to 1 at 14:47 and Tristan King put the visitors up 4 to 1 on a five on three power play goal with 2:33 left in the middle frame.
Period three saw one goal scored by the Reign at 13:55 this time it was Matt Register tallying on a rare four on three power play for what was to be the final score of 5 to 1.
Game four will be played Wednesday April 22 at the Budweiser Events Center starting at 7:05 MDT.
