LOVELAND. Colo. – In game one of the Pacific Division semifinals the Colorado Eagles prevailed against the Ontario Reign to take one to nothing lead in the best of seven series.
Propelled by a three point night, a goal and two assists, by Nathan Moon and Darryl
Bootland’s two goal performance Colorado grabbed the Reign’s home ice advantage.
Moon having just returned from a long stint with the AHL ‘s Adirondack Flames, scored at 3:19 of the first period. At 12:11 also in the first period Bootland set up in front of Reign goalie, Joe Cannata, and swiped a Moon pass into the net for the Eagles second goal of the period.
Leading 2 to 0 heading into period two forward Chris Duszynski made it 3 to 0 with his first professional goal with Moon again registering the assist.
Bootland again camped out in front of the Ontario goal scored his second of the game this time assisted by Eagles Captain Trent Daavettila to push the score to 4 to 0.
Reign defenseman Alex Roach scored the first goal for the home team late in the second period to make the score 4 to 1 entering period three.
A late goal from Matt Register with  2:40 left in the game and  Reign goalie Cannata pulled cut the Eagles lead in half but that was all the scoring for game one with Colorado posting their first win  in their battle for post season dominance.
Game two will be Friday April 17th at 7:00 P.M. in Ontario
