Dundas rallies to even best-of-7 series

DUNDAS—The night was pointless for Jarrett Konkle of Stoney Creek as the Dundas Real McCoys rallied to take game two of the best-of-seven Allan Cup Hockey semifinal series 4-2 in the friendly confines of the Harry Howell Arena.

Igor Gongalsky of the Stoney Creek Generals watches in dismay as goalie Ryan DeMelo scrambles to snare the puck as Phil Brewer shovels it into the net. Dundas won 4-2

Phil Brewer gave Dundas the victory when he shovelled the puck past Stoney Creek goalkeeper Ryan DeMelo with 34 seconds left to play in the second period.  Dundas made the goal stand up until Brad Bonello got the insurance marker into an empty net on a McCoys power play with two second left in the game.

Game three of the series will be tomorrow night (Saturday) at Stoney Creek at 7 p.m. in the Gateway Ice Centre.  The fourth game will be back in the Howell Arena, Wednesday, February 27th at 8 p.m. with game five in the Creek on Saturday, March 2nd at 7 p.m.

Dundas got two goals and an assist from Brad Bonello with Phil Brewer adding a goal and two assists.  Darren Haydar had the other McCoys goal, while Dan Lapointe and Simon Mangos set up two scoring plays each.  Matt Bragg and Andrew Hotham replied for Stoney Creek.
