DUNDAS—Dundas Real McCoys ended their two-game losing streak with a 6-3victory over the Whitby Dunlops last Friday night in Allan Cup Hockey action in the JL Grightmire Arena.
The McCoys gave every indication with the victory that they were on the right track as they prepare this week for their re-match on Friday (November 22nd) with the Hamilton Steelhawks in the Grightmire Arena at 7:30 p.m.
“We had a quick chat before the game about having a good start and full effort from everyone. The really seemed to help and the guys responded well,” said Don Robertson, the club’s President and General Manager.
“We played about 57 minutes of really good hockey, and that was enough to secure the victory. Overall it was a great team effort.”
“Hamilton is here Friday, and we hope to have as a good a game as we did on our opening night, but with a better result,” said Robertson.

Last Friday, Brad Bonello led the charge with a three-point night as the McCoys defeated the Whitby Dunlops 6-3 in the Grightmire Arena, for its second victory of the season.
Dundas holds down third place in the standings with a record of two wins, two losses and an overtime loss. They are one point behind the second place Brantford Blast. Hamilton is first with a 4-1 record.
Dundas went in front early on a goal by Phil Brewer. The game broke open in the second period as the two clubs traded goals and the McCoys skated to a 4-3 lead. In the final 20 minutes, the McCoys replied with a pair of goals to seal the victory.
In addition to Bonello with his two goals and an assist, Connor Russell and Phil Brewer added a goal and an assist each with Cam Watson and Kyle McNeil adding single goals. Trevor Atkinson, Mark Bennett and Simon Mangos assisted on two goals apiece.
Darren Doherty and Tyler Melancon replied with a goal and an assist each for Whitby. Kyle McLaughlin added a single goal.
