Aspray Glasgow West sponsored Glasgow Clan forward John Dunbar reckons the sky is the limit for Malcolm Cameron’s team in the new season.
Dunbar is one of the new faces at the club, after signing from Premier Sports Elite League rivals Guildford Flames earlier in the summer.
And he sees no reason why the Clan shouldn’t be bothering some of the other big names in the league when it comes to higher league placings.
“I genuinely think the sky is the limit for this group this year,” he said. “We have a lot of good things to look forward to.
“We’re certainly more than capable of a higher finish, but it’s hard to tell right now. There’s a lot of good names out there with some mileage, plus the young guys are looking good too.
“Top four is certainly not out of the question with the experience we have in our locker room.
“I’ve been in the league for four years and some of the guys coming in I already know after playing against them. Playing alongside them is going to be great.”
Dunbar was the first signing to be announced as Cameron’s new-look side began to take shape and has watched with great interest who will be wearing purple this season.
He says he’s thrilled by the names coming on and can’t wait to hit the ice with his new team-mates as he begins the next phase of his career.
“I’m ecstatic about the group and it’s been a long summer,” Dunbar added. “Looking at it, it’s only a few weeks until we’re out on the ice and on paper, it looks like a really great squad.
“I’m looking forward to working with the guys and with Malcolm and we’ve been in a group chat with the coach, but it’s been mostly information being sent over.
“Expectations are high and we’ve got some really good names there. I’ve been looking into some of the guys coming in, especially the first-year pros.
“But it will be interesting to see how we all gel when we get together next month. We have guys who know what it takes to win and I’m thrilled to be part of it.”
