Ducks wing it at 29

READING, PA – The Anaheim Ducks came into the 2010 NHL Entry draft with two first round picks but just might leave with only one of them. Still, in PHN’s mock draft, we don’t guess if a trade will take place so let’s see where the Ducks with go at number 29 in the first round. With their original pick at 12, we see the Ducks selecting goaltender Jack Campbell. That helps take care of one of the top two needs that Anaheim had going into the draft. The other being at l eft wing
As we mentioned before, LW Quinton Howden had 28 goals for Moose Jaw and John McFarland from Sunbury (OHL) are two players that could and should be on the Ducks radar screen as should Ludvig Rensfeldt who is a pure goal scorer.
It is a tough call between the three but McFarland is one of those players that appear to be a hit or miss thing. Still, the Ducks are a tad surprised to still see him on the board at this point. He has a ton of skill and playing on a line with Bobby Ryan could prove too much for the Ducks to ignore should the Ducks resign Ryan.
“With the 29th pick in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, the Anaheim Ducks select, from the Sudbury Wolves, forward John McFarland.” To learn more about John McFarland click on his name.
