In Anaheim, the Ducks won their fourth straight on Sunday, and Troy Terry had a goal and assist in a 4-1 win over the t Louis Blues.
For Terry, the points extended his scoring streak to 11 games.
“I was fortunate to get off to a good start [to the season],” Terry said. “Just get a couple points early and feel good, and kind of take that pressure off and just play.”
John Gibson made 34 saves for the Ducks win.
Anaheim improved to 6-4-3.
Brandon Saad scored the lone goal for St Louis, for a 1-0 lead.
“There were opportunities for me to make good plays and I didn’t make them tonight,” the Blues’ Ryan O’Reilly said. “Disappointed with that, but I know I’ll kind of adjust and be better for the next game.”
St Louis dropped to 7-2-1.
“We could have done a lot of things better,” St. Louis coach Craig Berube said. “It seemed like we didn’t have a lot of emotion in the game. We had opportunities to score. We didn’t capitalize on some good opportunities.”
Anaheim’s Sam Carrick tied the game, 1-1, in the second period.
Terry gave the Ducks the lead at 2-1, and Sam Steel made it 3-1 in the third period.
“It’s a total team effort right now,” Ducks head coach Dallas Eakins said. “We don’t just need one line or one goalie, or a D-pair, we need all 23 of our players right now. Those players, all 23 of them, are sacrificing [for] each other. They’re committed to each other.”
Benoit-Olivier Groulx scored an empty-net goal with under a minute left on the clock for the 4-1 final.
Jordan Binnington made 23 saves in the Blues loss.
