Ducks survive Flames’ rally for 3-2 win

In Anaheim Wednesday, the visiting Calgary Flames rallied form a 2-0 hole but had their four-game winning streak snapped when Ryan Getzlaf broke through for the game-winner in a 3-2 win for the Ducks.

The win broke the Ducks out of a long, nine-game funk (1-6-2).

Ryan Miller made 37 saves for the win as Anaheim improved to 7-7-3.

“We’ve got to get more looks than that,” Flames defenseman Mark Giordano said.

Matthew Tkachuk and Mark Jankowski scored for the Flames who tied the score, 2-2, after falling behind.

“You don’t want to spot a team two, especially in this building,” Flames defenseman Travis Hamonic said.

The Flames dropped to 9-6-1 with the loss.

Jakob Silfverberg and Adam Henrique staked the Ducks to the early 2-0 lead.

“We’re doing a little better defensively, which is allowing us to play more offense,” Getzlaf said after the game.

Mike Smith made 21 saves to take the loss.

“Those games are going to happen. I thought we kind of were a little slow in the first 12 minutes or so in the game and then we got our legs going. Really, I thought we controlled a good part of the game afterwards. We certainly had our looks and they just, they had their looks too,” Calgary’s Travis Hamonic said.
