In Anaheim, Troy Terry’s point streak hit 14 games on Sunday, he had an assist in the Ducks’ 5-1 win over the visiting Vancouver Canucks.
Trevor Zegras hit for two power-play goals and had three points in the win.
“More than just the goals, [Zegras] was playing hard on the puck, he was doing the right things and he got rewarded,” Terry said.
John Gibson made 26 saves in the Anaheim win.
“Getting on the scoresheet in this league is always special to me, but it’s just more fun when we’re winning,” Terry said.
The Ducks have won seven straight.
The Canucks took a 1-0 lead off a goal from Nils Hoglander,
Zegras scored his two goals for a 2-1 lead Anaheim.
The Ducks improved to 9-4-3.
“This team is playing for each other, and playing loose,” Terry said. “I know it’s a cliche answer, but it’s just a lot of fun being on this team right now.”
Sonny Milano pushed the lead out to 3-1 before the end of the middle frame.
Vancouver dropped to 4-9-2.
“It’s not going to be easy getting out of [this losing streak],” Vancouver’s Tyler Myers said. “We have to work together to fight our way out of it, nobody is going to do it for us.”
Adam Henrique and Sam Steel scored empty-net goals for the 5-1 final.
Jaroslav Halak made 33 saves in the Canucks loss.
“Things haven’t gone the way we want to,” Canucks coach Travis Green said. “But I will say that I’m confident that our team will turn things around.”
