Ducks hand Cassidy first loss as Bruins bench boss

On Wednesday, the Anaheim Ducks faced a streaking Boston Bruins club who had not lost under their new head coach.

But Rickard Rakell struck twice in a 5-2 Ducks win on home ice.

“It was nice to get the bounces tonight,” Rakell said. “We’ve been having a tough time over the last couple of games.”

Racjell’s second was game-winner with less than three minutes left in regulation.

Andrew Cogliano sealed the win with an empty-netter.

The Ducks had a 3-1 lead before the Bruins rallied to tie the game on goals from

Ondrej Kase and Josh Manson also scored for the Ducks.

Frank Vatrano, Brandon Carlo and Zdeno Chara scored for the Bruins.

It was Bruce Cassidy’s first loss as the Bruins bench boss.

“You just hate to come all the way back and get scored on late in a game like that,” Cassidy said.

Jonathan Bernier picked up the Anaheim win on 26 saves.
