In Anaheim, a coaching change has had a marginal impact through two games.
Bob Murray took over the duties as the Ducks’ bench boss and Kevin Boyle got a shutout, 1-0, for the team’s first win under Murray.
But Friday night had the Ducks back to their old ways in a 3-0 loss to the visiting Boston Bruins.
Jaroslav Halak made 30 saves to get the shutout.
“You play well, keep the net clear, and the goalie’s going to look good,” Boston coach Bruce Cassidy said.
Anaheim has dropped to 22-1-27-9 and are 1-8-0 in their nine matches.
“I think it was a pretty even hockey game,” Murray said. “They buried their chances, and we didn’t bury ours.”
Noel Acciari, Jake DeBrusk and Chris Wagner were the Bruins’ goal scorers.
“It’s obviously something that you focus on that you want to do, start on the right foot,” DeBrusk said on wining the first of a five road games. “Tonight was a pretty good game for us. Obviously, we got the win and certain guys stepped up big for us. It was a team effort, so it was just nice to be a part of that.”

Boyle made 26 saves in the loss.
“I thought the team played very well,” Murray said. “Again, tonight, they stuck with the system, so we didn’t give up a lot, which was good. We’ve got to create something around their net. We’ve got to do more around their net so their goalie doesn’t see the puck.”
