His goal decided the game in the Ducks’ favor, 5-4.

“We stuck with it,” Getzlaf said. “Our goaltender made some big saves in that shootout to keep us in that thing and keep us alive.”

John Gibson made 22 saves in the win.

Craig Smith scored his second of the game and Rocco Grimaldi knotted the game at 4-4 in the seventh minute of the third period to force extra time and the shootout.

Roman Josi set a mark for Predators’ defensemen with two assists to stretch his point streak to 10 games.

“Wish we got the two points, and we should have,” Josi said.

Austin Watson also scored for the Preds.

Adam Henrique struck twice for the Ducks.

“We kept pushing,” Henrique said. “We didn’t get frustrated. Eventually we got a few. That was big for us.”

Cam Fowler and Daniel Sprong added single markers for the Ducks.

“If we’re getting shot volume, that means we’re not spending time in our zone,” Getzlaf said. “We have to continue doing those things and keep building from our net out.”
