Ducks doubled up by Nashville

In Anaheim, Filip Forsberg hit for a double and five points on Monday night in a 6-3 win for the Nashville Predators over the Ducks.

“We couldn’t let him keep it for too long when he’s not on our team anymore,” Forsberg said. ”[Arvidsson] is one of my closest friends, but it feels good to take it from him, not going to lie.”

Nashville improved to 37-22-4.

The Predators went 9-for05 on the power play.

“Power play was great all night,” Forsberg said.

Matt Duchene also scored twice for Nashville.

Juuse Saros made 25 saves in the Preds win.

“I haven’t worked on that since I was kid,” Duchene said. “First time I’ve scored like that in the NHL.”

Derek Grant scored a pair of goals for the Ducks.

“What happened on the PK tonight is something I’ll be thinking about,” Grant said. “Not scoring.”

Nashville’s Ryan Johansen scored off the power play, his strike gave them a 2-1 lead in the game, after Grant had staked Anaheim to a 1-0 lead.

Roman Josi had tied the game with his single marker.

”We’ve gone back and forth,” Duchene said. ”The great thing is we’re pushing each other, and it’s not like we’re not passing to each other. If you’re going to achieve greatness, you might as well do it together.”

The Ducks fell to 27-27-11.

“Our penalty kill has been very, very good this year; it’s won us a lot of games too,” Anaheim coach Dallas Eakins said. “They were able to make some really good plays, so our PK had an off night, but on a lot of nights, they’ve been excellent.”

Troy Terry added a goal for Anaheim, his marker tied the game, 2-2.

“He’s found the confidence this year,” Grant said of Terry. “I wish we could have gotten the win for him tonight.”

John Gibson made 25 saves in the loss.

David Rittich relieved Saros long enough to make a save in the third period, Saros had gone off a skate repair.
