In Anaheim, the Ducks waives Adam Henrique a few weeks backs, he cleared the waiver wire and returned to the lineup.
He has done much more than score goals and be among the most consistent players on the Ducks roster.
On Thursday night, Henrique scored in extra time to give the Ducks a 3-2 win over the visiting Arizona Coyotes.
Ryan Miller made 23 saves after settling down in the first period when the Coyotes put up two goals.
“We got down early and I thought we showed a lot of determination and we were playing a good brand of hockey tonight,” Miller said. “We were above the puck and we had a lot of zone time, a lot of control of the puck.”
Arizona scored on their first two shots of the game with Conor Garland and Clayton Keller getting the strikes.
“Really frustrating,” Garland said. “It stinks, but we’ve got to find a way to get a third goal there.”
Jamie Drysdale and Trevor Zegras scored their first NHL goals, both in the middle frame, to get the Ducks even.
“It was pretty awesome,” Drysdale said. “I don’t think you can ask for a better way to start it off.”
Zegras’ goal tied the game.
“To see one just go into the net, actually, what are we [11] games in here, was a bit of a relief,” Zegras said. “It was a pretty exciting moment.”
Adin Hill made 28 saves in the loss.
