On Sunday night, the Anaheim Ducks used a big third period to bury the New York Rangers in a 6-3 win.
“At the end of the night we had too many guys who brought a ‘C’ game,” Rangers head coach Alain Vigneault said. “That’s not good enough against a team playing as well as
they are.”
In the second game of two in two nights, the Rangers were gassed in the third period after beating the Los Angeles Kings, 3-0, on Saturday.
Ryan Getzlaf had four assists in the win for the Ducks who are two points clear of the San Jose Sharks for the top spot in the Pacific Division.
“That’s a good hockey team over there,” Getzlaf said. “We’re finding ways to win hockey games.”
Rick Nash, Derek Stepan and Brady Skjei scored for the Rangers.
Patrick Eaves struck for two goals for Anaheim and Ryan Kesler, Patrick Eaves scored two goals, Ryan Kesler, and Andrew Cogliano also scored for the Ducks.

Henrik Lundqvist‘s return from injury was not the outcome anyone on the New York bench was looking for as he made 28 saves in the loss.
“Overall, I felt OK,” said Lundqvist, who made 28 saves. “There were a couple reads I could do better on the odd-man rushes.”
