In Columbus Tuesday night, the visiting Detroit Red Wings survived a Blue Jackets rally to win 5-3 for their second straight win.
Tyler Bertuzzi snapped the Jackets three-goal rally for the game-winner and Dylan Larkin added an empty net goal for his second goal of the game to seal it.
“You’re going to have stuff like this happen to you, but you’ve got to be able to respond and I thought we responded well,” Red Wings coach Jeff Blashill said.
Jimmy Howard made 34saves for the win.
Trailing 3-0, the Blue Jackets rallied on goals from Josh Anderson, Markus Nutivaara and Pierre-Luc Dubois.
“When the game feels like you’re fighting it, especially early on, go back to the basics. Hitting, winning your battles, skating,” Blue Jackets captain Nick Foligno said. “We didn’t want to do that [in] the first period. It cost us.”
Michael Rasmussen and Anthony Mantha also scored for the Red Wings.
“He definitely drove the bus for us tonight. It was definitely a big game for him, but he’s like that every night. He’s a big role model for me too,” Rasmussen said about Larkin’s game.

Joonas Korpisalo (4 saves) got the start for the Blue Jackets but was given the hook in favor of Sergei Bobrovsky who made 23 saves.
“We spent a lot energy coming back, but we did. We can take the positives from the things we did there in that stretch in the second, most of the third period,” Seth Jones said after the loss.
