DAYTON, OH – South Metro will be home next week to a new training experience for future Hall of Famers.
Total 3 Hockey Camp runs July 19 – 22. The camp is primarily focused on developing fundamental and key skills as well as encouraging teamwork. Future pros will learn all aspects of the game in all three zones, and experience on and off ice training at high performance while having fun.
“With a small ratio of players to coaches, the spots are filling up fast,” said Trevor Karasiewicz, two-time FHL championship coach and one of three instructors for the camp. Trevor will be joined by Port Huron defenseman and assistant GM Joe Pace as well as Dayton’s own Brian Marks.
“I’m glad I can help out with the kids because they are the ones who have supported the team for the past 4 years I’ve been here,” said Marks. “I believe there are only two spots still available.” Now in his 7th pro season, the defenseman was a member of the Dayton Demonz championship winning team of 2013-2014, with Karasiewicz in his first year as head coach. Karasiewicz has earned the distinction of winning 2 Commissioner’s Cups in the past three seasons, each time as a first season coach.
Dayton has a rich history of minor league hockey with record attendance numbers. Saddled last season with mid-season ownership adversities, the Dayton Demolition battled back from last place under the leadership of Joe Pace Sr. to earn a playoff spot. The sign-up success for the camp is another indication of how serious the community is about keeping hockey alive in Dayton.
