In Dallas, Tyler Seguin scored the first and last goal of the game for Stars on Sunday. In Between, four other skaters struck in a 6-1 win over the Boston Bruins.
Jake Oettinger made 25 saves in the Dallas win.
“They’ve been one of the best teams in the League for the last 10 years,” Oettinger said. “It’s always a good challenge, and I just want to show that I can be counted on in big games against those top teams. Whenever your team can put up goal support like that for you, it’s huge. You just need a couple of key saves and the guys are going to do the rest.”
The Stars moved to 23-17-2.
Alexander Radulov picked up a goal in the first period to give the Stars a 2-0 lewad after one period.
“It’s always great to score,” Radulov said. “Even though it was a while I couldn’t score, I always keep pushing, try to do little things right for the team, for the [benefit] for the team. I knew at some point, it’s going to turn on and go my way. Hopefully I’m going to grab it and keep going.”
Craig Smith was the lone strikers for Boston,
The Bruins dropped to 25-14-3.
“You’ve got to execute at an NHL level, especially against good teams,” Boston head coach Bruce Cassidy said. “They’re really pushing it. We didn’t do enough of that tonight. On the offensive side of it, we didn’t do it either. The forward group, getting pucks behind them early to establish a forecheck, I thought we were stubborn that way.
“You put those two things together against a good hockey club that defends well, and it was going to be an uphill battle. We didn’t figure it out.”
Luke Glendening and Jamie Benn scored in the middle frame for a 4-0 advantage.
Roope Hintz pushed the lead to 5-0 before Smith scored for the Bruins.
Linus Ullmark surrendered four goals to the Bruins and made 11 saves into the second period, before getting the hook.
“We didn’t do enough in front of him,” Cassidy said. “I thought our goaltending wasn’t the problem tonight at all. There’s just too many easy opportunities for them.”
Jeremy Swayman made 12 saves in a mop up role.
