In Dallas, the Stars got goals from six different skaters and Jason Robertson posted four assists in a 6-1 thrashing of the Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday night.
“Obviously playing a lot more games you start to feel more confident, and when I feel more confident I can make more poised plays,” Robertson said. “Whether that be pulling up or trying to let a weak side defenseman up the ice in the breakouts, going forward that helps offensively and defensively, so I try to work on the transition game and provide offense.”
Anton Khudobin made 21 saves to get the win.
The Stars broke out of a game-wide slump to get the victory.
Mattias Janmark scored Chicago’s only goal.
“They were good and we didn’t have it tonight,” Chicago head coach Jeremy Colliton said. “Right from the start, they were sharper, they were skating better. They were on top of us on the forecheck. I didn’t think we made many plays, early especially, to break pressure and create zone time.”
Three Dallas blueliners posted goals including Jamie Oleksiak, John Klingberg and Esa Lindell.
“We didn’t change anything, and we created the same opportunities that we have been doing for the last couple of weeks,” Stars coach Rick Bowness said. “The only difference was that the puck went in, so that was really good to see.”
Roope Hintz and Joel Kiviranta had two points apiece for the Stars including a goal each.
Joe Pavelski also scored for Dallas.
Malcolm Subban made 31 saves in the loss.
“There were times when we were good, but for the most part we weren’t that great,” the Blackhawks’ Calvin de Haan said. “Maybe we can take some of their recipe and try to mimic it. It just seemed every time we poked a puck away or tried to make a pass, it just blew up off our stick and stayed on theirs. It’s just a frustrating game, and at the end of the day, we just have to be better, plain and simple.”
