In Dallas, the Stars ended a five-game skid with a 4-3 overtime win over the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday.
John Klingberg hit for the winner around the midway point of the extra session.
“My shot the last few games, I told you I was going to shoot more,” Klingberg said. “I had my chances today, so it was nice to see it go in, and obviously a great pass by [Pavelski]. I literally had an open net, so it was nice.”
Chicago’s Dominik Kubalik forced the extra period, with a game-tying goal in the third period.
The Blackhawks trailed 1-3 in the third period before rallying for the loser’s point.
“A little bit of adversity. We had to climb back,” Chicago’s Dylan Strome said. “I thought we did a good job of that. Coach (Derek King) came in and said, ‘adversity comes in all different shapes and sizes, big or small,’ and that was obviously big.
“We did a great job of clawing back and sticking with our game and found a way to get a point. I think we’ll take the positives.”
Strome had a goal in the rally.
The Blackhawks dropped to 11-15-4.
Jake Oettinger made 20 saves in the Dallas win.
“That game shouldn’t have gone into overtime,” Dallas head coach Rick Bowness said. “The quality chances that we had, that game never should have seen overtime. That was our inability to finish and great goaltending by their goalie, so give him credit.”
Alex DeBrincat also scored for the Hawks to cut the Dallas lead to 2-0 at the time.
Jason Robertson replied for Dallas for a 3-1 lead, ahead of the Chciago rally.
Joe Pavelski hit for a pair of goals for Dallas, and assisted on the game-winner.
Dallas improved to 14-12-2.
Kevin Lankinen made 35 saves in the Chicago loss.
