In the early minutes of the third period in Dallas, the Stars got two goals from Miro Heiskanen and Brett Ritchie to help edge out the San Jose Sharks, 3-2.
The goals gave the Stars a 3-1 lead.
“(Tyler) Pitlick dropped it to me,” Heiskanen said. “I yelled there, I just threw it at the net, and that’s it.
“The last period was good for us, and it was a fun way to win this game.”
Ben Bishop made 41 saves in the win as the Stars improved to 16-10-3.
“We were bad in the first, and thank god Ben Bishop was not,” Stars coach Jim Montgomery said.
Evander Kane and Logan Couture scored for the Sharks.
“I think we’re little too relaxed,” Kane said. “We need to ramp up the intensity. Teams are coming back on us because we’re not finishing.”
San Jose dropped to 14-11-5.

Martin Jones made 27 saves in the loss.
“We battled back,” Sharks captain Joe Pavelski said. “We didn’t have long stretches where we didn’t have our game. It was a competitive game. We had chances throughout the night. We had opportunities to tie it up there at the end and didn’t get it.”
