Dallas continue hot streak with 5-1 win over Oilers

In Dallas Saturday, the Stars’ Ben Bishop made 37 saves in a 5-1 win ov er the Edmonton Oilers.

Alexander RadulovTyler Seguin and John Klingberg each haf a goal and multi-points nights in the win.

“Sometimes it’s happening, sometimes it’s going well, and we worked hard and get rewarded, whole team played good,” Radulov said. “Good structured game, everybody and Bishop, we need these points and now we have a little break.”

The loss extended Edmonton’s woes as they have lost fice of their last six and are going no where fast.

Jamie Benn and Mattias Janmark added single markers in the win for Dallas who improved to 24-16-3.

“We came in pretty focused, and the three of us didn’t even start together, but [coach Ken Hitchcock] threw us together one shift and I think [Radulov] scored that first shift and started things and we had a good first period,” Benn said.

Leon Draisaitl scored the lone Oilers goal as they dropped to 15-21-3.

“We just got beat by a good team that worked hard,” the Oilers’ Connor McDavid said. “The first period they came out strong and made their plays. I thought the work ethic was there. Just a couple mental mistakes that ended in the back of the net.”

Cam Talbot got the start for the Oilers and made 15 saves before being given the hook after yielding four goals.

“Right now, we’re generating some chances and the puck’s not going in the net. We’ve gone through phases where we’ve had fewer chances and scored many more goals. I don’t know if it’s a phase for us offensively,” Oilers head coach Todd McLellan said after the game, “Obviously, we’ve got to get a little harder. And I think our back end, particularly from the blue line, could do a better job of managing the puck and getting shots through and creating for our forwards.”

Recently acquired, Al Montoya made 13 saves in his debut with the Oilers.

“For myself, it was fun to be playing hockey again,” Montoya said. “It was a long road back. I’m just happy to be back.”

Montoya was picked up fro the Montreal Canadiens and had not played since November since being sidelined with a concussion.
