INDIANAPOLIS, IN – The Indy Fuel, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Chicago Blackhawks and the AHL’s Rockford IceHogs announced Tuesday that they have re-signed forward Diego Cuglietta to a standard player contract for the 2021-22 season.
Cuglietta, 26, returns to the Fuel after splitting the 2020-21 season between the Utah Grizzlies and Indy Fuel. Skating in a total of 49 games last season, the 5-foot-10, 176-pound forward tallied 11 goals and 19 assists. Entering his third pro season Cuglietta has played in 27 AHL games earning two goals and three assists.
Prior to turning pro, Cuglietta played four seasons for Lake Superior State University. Appearing in a total of 147 NCAA games, the native of Kamloops, British Columbia registered 50 goals, 50 assists and 77 penalty minutes.
With the signing of Cuglietta, the Fuel have six forwards and two defensemen signed for the 2021-22 season. Stay tuned to Indy Fuel social media pages for more player signings throughout the offseason.
